Itinerary

DAY 1

Windhoek | Arrive Windhoek. Check into the Olive Grove Guesthouse, a quaint accommodation in a quiet and peaceful area near Windhoek city centre. Enjoy dinner on the rooftop terrace with Moroccan style decor and a gorgeous view. Unwind from your travels and enjoy professional spa services at the Wellness Room.

DAY 2

Etosha National Park - Oknojima | Travel to Etosha National Park in your safari vehicle. Enjoy the AfriCat Foundation in Okonjima, a wildlife sanctuary focused on the research and rehabilitation of big cats, including injured and captured leopards and cheetahs. Check into Onguma Bush Camp. The lounge and dining areas overlook a stunning waterhole where you view game right from camp.

DAY 3

Etosha National Park |  Enjoy game viewing at the eastern section of Etosha National Park. Return to camp for lunch and an early afternoon rest, then spend the rest of the day on a game drive at the Onguma Game Reserve. Return to camp and enjoy dinner overlooking the camp’s floodlit waterhole.

DAY 4

Halali, Etosha National Park | Today is dedicated to a full day of game viewing within the Etosha National Park from your private safari vehicle. Make your way from the eastern side to Halali where you can stop for lunch. Enjoy game viewing at the Goas waterhole, then continue to Safarihoek Lodge located on the southern boundary of the Etosha National Park. Spend the rest of the evening game viewing at the camp’s floodlit waterhole where game comes and goes throughout the day and night.

DAY 5

Himba Village - Damaraland | Embark on your journey to the Damaraland area. En route, visit a local Himba settlement – sometimes you may have to search for a while as the semi-nomadic Himba people move locations with no notice. The Himba is one of the last traditional people of Namibia and have little time for conventional practices. Learn the customs of their proud nation with insight into their beliefs, practices and way of life. Continue to Damaraland and check into Doro! Nawas Camp. Enjoy the panoramic view and dramatic landscape from Doro! Nawas which lies on a small hill overlooking ancient plains.

DAY 6

Damaraland - Aba-Huab River Valley - Twyfelfontein | Take an exciting excursion along the ephemeral Aba Huab River valley, and search for local game, including the elusive desert adapted elephants. The region is home to a variety of desert adapted wildlife and hidden desert treasures. Time permitting, continue to Twyfelfontein, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007. Twyfelfontein is famous for the petroglyphs of the San Bushmen which date back from 1,000 to 10,000 years ago.

DAY 7

Swakopmund | Arrive Swakopmund. Check into the Strand Hotel which is uniquely located on the iconic and historic Swakopmund Mole and surrounded on three sides by the Southern Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the Hotel’s restaurants, bars, lounges, and a sea-facing terrace.

DAY 8

Swakopmund - Walvis Bay  | Arrive Walvis Bay for a memorable seal and dolphin cruise within the outer lagoon and harbor. Look for Cape fur seals, Heaviside and Bottlenose dolphins, pelicans, flamingos and a variety of sea birds. If you are lucky, there is also a chance to spot whales, leatherback turtles and sunfish. During the cruise, enjoy a scrumptious brunch complete with local sparkling wine and fresh oysters. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing back at Strand Hotel or exploring Swakopmund city.

DAY 9

Sossusvlei | Take a scenic flight to Sossusvlei and enjoy views of the great Namib Sea Sand, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Look for deserted mines, shipwrecks and seal colonies on the way towards the famous Sossusvlei dunes. Arrive Sossusvlei. Check into Hoodia Desert Lodge which is surrounded by majestic mountains on the banks of the Tsauchab River.

DAY 10

Sossusvlei - Namib Naukluft National Park - Deadvlei | Depart early morning for a magical excursion to Namib Naukluft National Park and witness dunes while the early morning light is soft, and shadows accentuate the towering shapes and curves. The area boasts the highest free-standing sand dunes in the world. Explore Deadvlei, a white clay pan located near the more famous salt pan of Sossusvlei and inside the Namib-Naukluft Park. Deadvlei is nominated the 8th Wonder of the World.

DAY 11

Sossusvlei | Depart Sossusvlei.
