MINA, KAREN, AND FRIENDS CELEBRATE IN DUBAI AND MALDIVES

"I have traveled with Amy many times and she always organizes great tours. She had this trip planned and it was a no-brainer for me. I had an awesome time and met some really good friends. There were seven of us traveling together. First, we wanted to be in Dubai for New Year’s Eve because they have the world’s largest fireworks and laser show. What a great way to start the new year! Then we were on to the Maldives to live the next seven days on a catamaran. Nothing is cooler than that!"
"We had activities planned out every day in Dubai. We went to the tallest building, Burj Khalifa. We also did a speed boat tour along Palm Beach to see the other skyline, the residential area with tall buildings, and the Atlantis Resort. We visited the Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall, and saw the huge aquarium. One day we did a desert safari excursion where they take you out to ride on the sand dunes in this big vehicle. Most of the group loved it, but the ups and downs made me a little sick. At the campsite, they had camels and kiosks to dress up in traditional clothing for photos. After that, there was a big meal and a show featuring traditional dance."
"From there, it was on to the Maldives! We took a speedboat out to our catamaran yacht, our home for the next seven days. We met our crew which consisted of a captain and his wife. It was very exciting. We’re in the middle of the Indian Ocean and the weather is perfect and warm. The boat was pretty big. The captain’s wife cooked and cleaned for us. She would whip up the most amazing food for us like curry or barbecue. It was something so good I don’t even know how to describe it."
"We'd wake up and then just go find spots to hang out. Or, we would spend the day on the boat just relaxing and it was wonderful. We snorkeled and we even paddle-boarded. That was quite an adventure. We saw some nurse sharks, but they were pretty intimidating because they were huge. We even saw dolphins and stingrays. At night we did a lot of stargazing.

We got to see a lot of the real Maldives, not just the resort parts. We saw a lot of the islands inhabited by so many different people. We got to observe their way of life. We found the people there to be very friendly. They had a really good, calm disposition. It is just a peaceful trip."
