Itinerary

DAY 1

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Arrive Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Mount Meru Game Lodge in Arusha for lunch. Continue to Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge, a private campsite bordering the Tarangire National Park.

DAY 2

Tarangire National Park

Enjoy the day exploring and viewing game at Tarangire National Park, famous for its baobab trees, large herds of elephant and predators. Learn how elephants communicate with subtle interactions and other aspects of animal behaviors.

DAY 3

Tarangire National Park - Lake Manyara National Park

Enjoy another day of viewing game at Tarangire National Park. Option to do an ethnobotanical tour. In the afternoon, transfer to the Kirurumu Manyara Lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4

Lake Manyara National Park 

Enjoy a day of exploring and game viewing at the Lake Manyara National Park. Discover lush forests, famous tree-climbing lions, white pelicans, pink hued flamingos, cormorants and yellow-billed storks. During the game tour, you’ll understand why this park is where “Out of Africa” was filmed.

DAY 5

Mto Wa Mbu - Karatu

Discover local culture at the farming village of Mto Wa Mbu. Continue to Karatu where you enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at The Plantation Lodge.

DAY 6

Ngorongoro

Arrive at Ngorongoro conservation area, home to the vast volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and “Big 5” game (elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and rhinos). See the world’s largest elephants, large prides of lions, and herds of wildebeests and zebras. The crater is the last place in Africa where free ranging black rhinos can be spotted.

DAY 7

Ndutu

Enjoy a safari in the Serengeti in Ndutu. Continue through the short grass plains of the southern Serengeti. Arrive at Lake Msaek Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 8

Ndutu

Explore Ndutu with a full day of game viewing. Discover the Great Migration from November to March/April and calving season from December to May. During the dry season from June to November, you can see resident animals gather at waterholes including elephants, giraffes, and large cats. All six cat species including leopards, lions, cheetahs, caracals, servals and the African wildcats reside year-round.

DAY 9

NDUTU

Explore Ndutu with a full day of game viewing.

DAY 10

NDUTU

Depart to Arusha for lunch. Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for departure.
