Itinerary

DAY 1

Montreux

Arrive Montreux and check into Royal Plaza Montreux & Spa. Explore the beautiful traditional resort town on Lake Geneva. Experience the Montreux Jazz Festival in July or the famous Christmas Markets with over one hundred elaborately decorated wooden houses in December. Take a stroll through the town's promenade lined with flowers, sculptures, Mediterranean trees and grand Belle Époque buildings. Experience the magic of Chillon Castle, a historical water castle located on the banks of Lake Geneva. See its 14th century wall paintings, subterranean vaults, parade halls and bedrooms preserved in original form dating back to the time of the Bernese rule. Visit the Mountain Studio where Queen recorded their last album. 

DAY 2

MONTREUX

Feeling adventurous? Head for the mountains and lakes on a day trip to Glacier 3000. Travel in a cable car up to the glacier area above Les Diablerets ski resort. Sample sparkling wine and cheese as you enjoy views of alpine vistas, or try the Alpine Coaster toboggan ride. Another option is experience the Golden Panoramic Express Train and take a day trip to Gruyères. Travel to the quaint village of Broc to sample chocolates made in a traditional factory. Head to the hills and visit the gorgeous mountain top town of Gruyères and try its renowned cheese in a local dairy. Need something more relaxing? Visit Corniche Lavaux Vineyards, and take a stroll from village to village, stopping to sample local wine and delicacies.

DAY 3

Interlaken

Arrive Interlaken and check into Linder Grand Hotel Beau Rivage. Discover the traditional resort town in the mountainous Bernese Oberland region of central Switzerland. With over 45 mountain railways, cable cars, chair lifts and ski lifts leading to 200 kilometers of pistes and a dense network of hiking trails, this is the ideal outdoor vacation destination.

DAY 4

INTERLAKEN

Discover the medieval town of Unterseen. Visit the old town hall and Museum der Jungrfau-Region, or stroll the streets and admire the chalets and local stores. Explore the former Augustinian monastery and witness the bell tower of the former monastery church dating back to the early 14th century, and a Gothic cloister gallery and chapel dating back to the mid-15th century. Want to take in all the spectacular scenery? Interlaken is the perfect place to enjoy a helicopter flight and see magnificent views of mountains, lakes and glaciers. Another option is to take a day trip to Jungraujoch on a cogwheel train. The end of the line will have you disembarking at Europe’s highest train station at 3454 meters. Here you can visit the Top of Europe building overlooking the Aletsch Glacier.

DAY 5

Zermatt

Arrive Zermatt and check into Romantik Hotel Julen. Discover the southern Switzerland Valais canton famous for its skiing, climbing and hiking. The village of Zermatt is old-fashioned with lovely chalets, winding alleys, electric vehicles and horse-drawn cabs. Stroll through the main street lined with boutique shops, restaurants and a lively apres-ski scene. Take an aerial tramway to Matterhorn glacier paradise then get a guided hike up the Breithorn ascent. The mountain hike tour offers a high alpine mountain experience where one can live out the feeling of being on top of the world. Or try skiing in Zermatt and mountain biking during the summer months.

DAY 6

St. Moritz

Arrive St. Mortiz and check into Hotel Hauser. Discover the luxury resort town in Switzerland’s Engadin valley. This town hosted the Winter Olympics twice. During winter months, its frozen lake hosts polo, cricket and even horse racing on ice. Try cross country skiing on the well-groomed trails. Visit the Segantini Museum, White Turf Racing Association, Corviglia, Piz Nair and Lake Sils.

DAY 7

Zürich

Arrive Zürich and check into Hotel Ambassadro à l’Opera. Discover the global center for banking and finance. Stroll through the picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt and waterfront promenades. Visit the Grossmünster cathedral, Fraumünster Church, St. Peter church, and Swiss National Museum. Try playing chess outdoors with a city view at the Lindenhof Hill. Conclude your day with shopping at upscale pedestrian lined boulevard Bahnhofstrasse.

DAY 8

Paris

Arrive Paris and check into Hotel Oceania Paris Roissy. Explore the Seine with views of Notre Dame. Enjoy pink and white cherry blossom trees in the main botanical garden of Jardin des Plantes. Walk the historic street of Rue Mouffetard and discover the iconic neighborhood of the Latin Quarter with plentiful bistros, independent boutiques and cozy bookshops. Continue to Sant Germain, a Parisian neighborhood offering antique shops, and specialty shops making chocolate and macarons. Take a break at Les Deux Magots which was frequented by writers and artists including Hemingway and Picasso. A visit to Paris is not complete without the Louvre or Musée d’Orsay. Take an evening city lights tour and visit the Eiffel Tower with spectacular views of Paris.

DAY 9

Paris

Enjoy a breakfast roll with egg, bacon and chili jam at Café Méricourt, or visit a local bakery for delicious croissants and pastries like the Boulangerie Gautier. Depart Paris.
