Itinerary

DAY 1

Yangon

Arrive Yangon and check into Taw Win Garden Hotel. Explore downtown Yangon and see the colonial buildings such as city hall, Mahabandoola park, high court and telegraphic office. Continue to Shwedagon Pagoda of Rudyard Kipling fame and view the massive bell-shaped stupa that is gold plated and set in diamonds, rubies, sapphires and topaz. Enjoy sunset at the Pagoda, the most fitting place to begin your trip in the “Golden Land”.

DAY 2

Kyaikhtiyo - Yathetaung

Journey to Kyaikhtiyo to visit the Golden Rock, a small pagoda perched on top of a massive rock covered with golden leaf and balanced on a cliff. Continue to Yathetaung. Try a light trek to the summit, or enjoy a ride up on an easy-chair transported by four men. At the top, enjoy a beautiful sunset and watch the evening activities of the local pilgrims at the shrine. Check into Pepper Garden Resort Hotel at Kyaikhtiyo.

DAY 3

Yangon, Heho, Kalaw

Return to Yangon. En-route, visit a cashew nut plantation and nearby orphanage house. Enjoy the rural landscapes of rice fields and small villages. Stop by the World War II cemetery which honors 27,000 commonwealth forces who lost their life in Burma. Then travel to Heho and onto Kalaw, a former British small town that sits 1320m above sea level. Check into Hill Top Villa Resort.

DAY 4

Lamine

From Kalaw, transfer to the starting point of your three hour trek to Lamine Village. Greeted by friendly locals, observe the traditional lifestyle at Lamine with farmers planting wheat, ginger and other crops. Check into a village homestay. 

DAY 5

Lamine - Inle Lake

Enjoy a morning stroll in Lamine before transferring to Inle Lake. Check in Hotel Nyaung Shwe. Spend the afternoon visiting the local village and sampling a spectacular array of traditional crafts. See how the local people work in the floating gardens and on their fishing boats.

DAY 6

Inle Lake

Explore Mine Thauk floating market in rotation every 5 days. Take a boat ride to Indein pagoda then to Pa’O tribal village. Follow an old covered path to a 13th century monastery and view the ancient ruins of hundreds of pagodas.

DAY 7

Mandalay

Arrive Mandalay and check into Hotel Magic Mandalay. Enjoy an afternoon of sightseeing. Mandalay is the last royal capital and serves as the cultural center of Myanmar. Explore several Buddhist monasteries including the Kuthodaw Pagoda known for its 729 marble slabs inscribed with buddha doctrine and the Golden Palace monastery with a panoramic view of the city. 

DAY 8

Amarapura - Mandalay

Arrive Amarapura, the ancient capital known as the city of immorality. Visit the century old U-Bein Bridge on Taungtaman Lake, and observe thousands of monks taking their last meal of the day at 10:00am in total silence at Mahagandayon monastery.

DAY 9

Bagan

Arrive Bagan and check into Bawga Theiddhi Hotel. Explore Bagan Archaeological Area and Monuments, NyaungOo Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Kyansittha Umin Cave temple, Htilominlo Temple, and Oak Kyaung Monastery.

DAY 10

Bagan - Minnanthu Village

Visit Lawkananda Pagoda, East & West Phet Leik Thatbyinnyu Temple, Shwegugyi Temple, and Tharaba Gate. In the afternoon, explore Apeyadana Temple, continue to Dhamayangyi Temple, then end your day at Minnanthu village known for their agricultural production of sesame and peanut oil.

DAY 11

Thandwe

Arrive Thandwe and check into Pleasant View Resort Hotel. Spend the day in leisure on Ngapali Beach.

DAY 12

THANDWE

Enjoy a full day sunbathing, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing or diving at Ngapali Beach.

DAY 13

THANDWE

Enjoy another day of relaxation at Ngapali Beach.

DAY 14

Thandwe - Yangon

After lunch, travel to Yangon and check into Taw Win Garden Hotel.

DAY 15

Yangon

Enjoy sightseeing in Yangon before departure.
