DAY 1

ARRIVE SANTA CRUZ, BOLIVIA

Arrive in Santa Cruz, where you are met and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 2

SANTA CRUZ | EXPLORING THE CITY

After settling in, set out on a city tour, viewing the Basílica Menor de San Lorenzo from the main square — Plaza 24 de Septiembre. Continue to Arte Campo, a crafts shop located in a traditional home, and El Abasto Indian Market. Then, after seeing other key monuments and residential neighborhoods, pause for a cup of coffee, before returning to your hotel for time at leisure.

DAY 3

SECURE | CONSTITUTIONAL CAPITAL

Fly to Sucre, where you are met and taken on a city tour. Visit La Recoleta, the House of Liberty, where Simon Bolivar signed the Independence of Bolivia. Then, wander through the fascinating Textile Museum Asur and check in to your hotel.

DAY 4

POTOSI | SILVER CITY

Travel overland to the colonial city of Potosi, a former source of silver. Legend has it that the rich mountains produced enough of the precious metal to build a solid bridge from Potosi to Madrid. Visit La Casa de la Moneda and Santa Teresa Museum, and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, continue overland to Uyuni and check in to your hotel.

DAY 5

UYUNI | SURREAL SALT FLATS

Situated on the Bolivian Andean Altiplano, Uyuni is the site of the largest salt flat on earth. See its otherworldly pentagons of crystalline salt, set against a backdrop of lagoons, flora, flamingos and boundless skies. Visit Isla Pescado (Incahuasi), an oasis with algae and fossil formations. See its thousands of giant columnar cacti, which are upward of 100 years old. Return to your hotel and have dinner on the shores of the Uyuni Salt Lake.

DAY 6

UYUNI | STORIES OF ANCESTORS

Today, set out to see Thunupa Volcano. Stroll through the nearby village and hike to the cave of the Coquesa Mummies to view the remains of the ancestors of locals and learn their stories. Return to your hotel and relax before sitting down to dinner on site.

DAY 7

LA PAZ | NEIGHBORHOOD MARKET VISITS

Transfer to the airport and fly to La Paz, where you explore its colonial and modern neighborhoods as well as the Indian Market and Witch Doctor's Market. Ascend the Mi Teleférico cable car for panoramas framed by the majestic Illimani Mountain. Then, discover Moon Valley, a clay formation resembling the face of the moon.

DAY 8

LAKE TITICACA | EXPLORING BY HYDROFOIL

Depart for Cocotoni, where you take a hydrofoil cruise on Lake Titicaca. Visit Moon Island and Iñak Uyu (Sun Virgins Temple). Continue to Sun Island, where you climb the Grand Stairs and taste the water of the Sacred Fountain, believed by some to give eternal youth and happiness. After a local lunch, stroll through a small Indian market. Then, take the hydrofoil to Huatajata, visiting the Andean Roots Eco-Village, Altiplano Museum, Handicrafts village, Mud Igloos and the mortuary towers of the Urus Chipayas. Meet the Limachi family, ship builders of the ‘RA II’ and ‘Tigris,’ which made epic expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean led by famed adventurer Thor Heyerdahl. Meet their vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. Tonight, enjoy an audiovisual and night experience of “The Mystic World of the Kallawayas,” about Bolivia’s natural healers, who believe in order to heal the body, one must first heal the soul. Receive a blessing from a resident kallawaya, who answers questions by casting his sacred coca leaves. After a drink, sit down to a candlelit dinner. This evening, visit the Native Observatory Alajpacha, to study the constellations in the spectacular night sky.
